Schoolfolio was founded in September of 2003 by Stacey Fenley, an elementary school teacher and mother of two. While working at public schools in California, Virginia, New York City and Washington, DC, Fenley noticed that parents were overwhelmed by the amount of art and schoolwork that their kids brought home. Lacking a product to store these materials, they would stash them away in closets, cardboard boxes, and plastic storage tubs. Through some initial research, Fenley discovered that there was no product suitable for storing all the "favorites" from a child's school career. She set out to design an all-in-one storage solution that would organize and protect art, schoolwork, report cards, class photos and other keepsakes from pre-school to 12th grade. One year later, the Schoolfolio was born. Part of Schoolfolio's mission is to raise needed funds for arts education through the Save the Art Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports youth arts programs.
